Mark Shale

The challenge presented to Sparks was to convert an existing 27,135-square-foot, one-story drug store/pharmacy building into an upscale fashion apparel specialty store for Mark Shale. The existing building had a basement and no direct access from the adjacent two-level enclosed mall from either level. The conversion was to link the existing building to a new mall entry also designed by Sparks.

The solution for linking the mall with the Mark Shale site involved the design of a new, two-level, cylindrical atrium entry positioned at the corner of the building footprint. This atrium entry connects the outside, the mall corridor, and the Mark Shale interior mall entry.
